We are excited to welcome two of the region’s finest bluegrass performers to the School of Musical Traditions!
Bluegrass Day is on November 19, featuring:
- Finding Melodies On Your Instrument with Ira Gitlin
- The Bluegrass Voice – How to Develop the Bluegrass “Sound” in Your Singing with Dede Wyland
Individual classes are $55, or $100 if you purchase both (add both classes to your cart, then enter code BUNDLE10 at checkout)
Join Ira Gitlin to learn how to take that melody you hear in your head and play it on your instrument. This is a fantastic opportunity to build improvisation foundations.
All string instruments welcome: fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro, ukulele – bring ’em all!
Students high school and older are welcome and encouraged to join.
Dede Wyland leads a class for vocalists of all levels. Beginners will love the general vocal tips, and more advanced vocalists will appreciate a review of the basics. Then you’ll move into bluegrass-specific vocal techniques, and how to apply them to your natural voice.
Students age 16 and older are welcome and encouraged to join.
Dede and Ira are also leading a free bluegrass jam following both workshops!
