Tuesdays, January 19 – February 23, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Play well with others! In this uniquely designed class, confident beginners will get the focused first half hour of the lesson and then they are encouraged to “sit in” on the rest of the lesson which will move at a faster pace.
From 7:30-8pm, Confident Beginners will primarily be learning to hold down the rhythm section. Other participants are welcome to join in learning the chord progressions at a slower pace. From 8pm-9:00pm, Intermediate and Advanced parts of the repertoire will be taught. These will become multi-part leads and for more advanced players, may also have spaces for solos.
Repertoire will tentatively be: Don’t Fence Me In, Blue Skies, Five Foot Two
Each student will get two practice rhythm tracks for each selection, one at a slower tempo and one at performance tempo. Chord charts and lyrics will also be provided via PDF. Classes will be taught via Zoom and archived online for viewing by participants.
For those who can & want to have a Virtual Performance, Marcy will send instructions for making a video or your part and sending it to a video editor. Virtual class performance will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube date TBD, along with some surprises.
