Sea Shanty & Ballad Singing with David McKindley-Ward

Are you absolutely desperate to sing some sea shanties with people?! Well, you’re hardly alone! This class will focus on repertoire, how to sing in groups, how to hear basic harmony and how to have a ton of fun roaring out shanties! No experience needed.


– vaccinations required (instructor is fully vaccinated)
– mask protocols will be observed within the building and during the class

David McKindley-Ward is a multi-instrumentalist from outside Washington DC who now lives in Baltimore. He has made a name for himself as one of the area’s top singers, and a much sought after accompanist. He regularly performs with the area’s finest traditional musicians, plays with his longtime friend and Baltimore songwriter Letitia VanSant, and records as session musician for various local bands. In 2018 he won first place in the senior tenor banjo contest, 2nd place in bouzouki accompaniment, and 3rd place in english singing at the Mid-Atlantic Fleadh in New Jersey
