Over 4 lessons students will learn to jam on several tunes from the Bluegrass repertoire. We will cover melody playing, accompaniment, jam etiquette, and how and when to improvise. This class is open to Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo. Students should be pretty good with basic chords and be able to play simple melodies. All ages 12+, masks and vaccination required.

JUSTIN HEATH – Justin’s zest for music ranges across a variety of instruments, including acoustic guitar, 5-string banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and violin. His musical interests range from jazz to folk and bluegrass to flamenco, but he is currently focused predominantly on solo classical guitar and playing tango music with the Toccata Players. Justin is a passionate teacher and loves to help his students achieve their goals in music. Recognizing that people have different learning styles and different goals, he uses a customized approach for each student. His background in Kinesiology gives Justin the tools to help people find the technique that works best for their body. Justin works at the House of Musical Traditions and teaches guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele.
